D.C.M.A aims to provide first-class martial arts, yoga and fitness training for the local community. We are fully accredited by and a Gold Standard member of the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association (B.M.A.B.A) and registered with Yoga Alliance.
Our Syllabus and Instructor certificates of recognition as well as our First Aid, Public Liability and DBS certificates are available upon request at any time.
At Dragon Claw we teach a freestyle martial arts syllabus based on the principles and techniques from several different styles. We believe this teaches discipline and focus but allows us freedom from the rigidity of a set ‘style’.
Our syllabus is based on a combination of elements from Lau Gar Kung fu, Kick Boxing, Shotokan Karate and Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) which allows us to train the key aspects of ‘traditional’ martial arts and learn to implement them in a practical way for self-defense. Fitness is also crucial when practising martial arts and our sessions will gradually increase your fitness levels as you progress through your grades.
At D.C.M.A we believe in training the mind as well as the body and enjoy nothing more than diving into the theory behind martial arts, yoga or sports science and also hold regular events and socials to promote our club ethos:

Each senior instructor is fully trained, is a black belt in Dragon Claw Kung Fu and/or Lau Gar Kung Fu, a CYT200/500 hour yoga instructor, is enhanced DBS checked, first aid qualified and fully insured. Our instructors continue to train themselves, constantly striving to improve their skill and the knowledge they pass on to their students.
We are a friendly, family orientated martial arts and fitness club that offers accessible classes to all ages, genders and abilities. Whatever your goal may be - regular training at a club for general fitness and socialising, to achieve your first black belt or even to compete in national tournaments, we can offer something for everyone.
